Moments to Cherish
Over the last week we were able to capture a few shots of Julianna that really capture her personality. She is really into copying what others are doing and she is starting to sound out many different words like, "yes", "ok", "juice", "again" and "book". Eric and I are still amazed almost on a daily basis by how fast she is learning things and how much she grows each week. Enjoy a few of our most recent shots.
Late Summer Wildflowers
The Museum of Natural Sciences has a 50-acre area that has been established as a protected prairie land right in the heart of our city. With the weather finally cooling off we took the opportunity to visit hoping to see some late summer wildflowers -- we were not disappointed. Here are just a few pics from a wonderful afternoon spent in nature.
Hunter and Gatherer
Late summer brings a few things to our home. Dead grass, falling pine cones, sticks and nuts and acorns all over our yard. In years past I have complained non stop until fall finally arrives. This year has been different. All these things that used to be such a nusiance are so exciting for Julianna. She can easily spend two hours walking around our house gathering her nuts, cones, sticks, rocks and acorns for the winter 🙂
Swim Class
Eric and I have enrolled Julianna in some toddler classes for the school year. She has three different classes per week - each is 45 minutes to 1 hour long. We want her to have some interaction with other children and start to learn how to listen for instruction, pay attention, share and wait her turn. All things that are harder to teach at home with only one child. One of the classes she has is swimming. It's the class to which papa is taking her. I was able to get some pre-class shots of just how excited and fearless Miss Julianna is in the water. Enjoy!
Back in Time
Recently we visited a park that was donated to the town of Wake Forest by the family that once farmed the land. The park is full of history. The original 1-room home where the family lived along with the old chicken coop, tobacco barn and stables are all still standing and open for public viewing. The park is filled with old hardwood trees (maple, oaks and sycamore). The town has added benches and swings and paved walkways throughout for the public to enjoy. We had a blast during our visit and Julianna loved the freedom of walking and running ANYWHERE! AND -- we think we got some amazing pics to share. Enjoy!
Fun at the Nature Park
Saturday was hot but beautiful at the nature park covered in shade trees and full of fun activities for Julianna.
Ties that bind
I love getting great shots of Julianna with Papa and our pets. Here are just a few recent ones that I think are worth sharing!
Quick Shots of Julianna
After a very long week of corporate training I finally had some time to post a few great pics of Julianna. These were taken at various times over the past week. Enjoy!
Walking with Dragons
Recently Eric and I took Julianna on a trip to the Raleigh Arboretum. In the center of the gardens there is a huge dragon made of bamboo -- Julianna was so amazed by it all.
Cousin Ava Turns One
This weekend we celebrated cousin Ava's birthday -- Here are a few pictures from the wonderful day.
