Julianna is Seven Months Old Today
Julianna continues to get stronger and stronger. She wants to pull up on anything she can find and has started "pivoting" on the floor to get around. She'll be crawling soon...
Barrel Roll
Just before the Christmas Holiday Papa caught Julianna doing her "barrel rolls" across the bedroom floor. She is now determine to figure out how to crawl. It won't be long! Julianna first rolled from her back to her tummy on October 4 and then from her tummy to her back on Nov 11. Now she has learned to just keep going!
Julianna is Six Months Old Today
Julianna is already six months old! Where does the time go? We've been getting our house decked for the holidays and Julianna is loving every minute of it. Here are a few pics of her "helping" with the staircase lighting.
Julianna is 5 months old today!
Oh how our baby girl is changing! At five months she can roll over from back to front, sit unassisted (though sometimes she allows herself to fall backwards so we have to keep soft things or support behind her), everything and I do mean everything goes in her mouth, and she has learned the D, L and Y sounds. She chatters all the time and her favorites are La-la-la-la-la, Ya-ya-ya-ya-ya and, papa's favorite, Da-da-da-da-da. All of which end in a high shrill at the end. We suppose that is her adding an exclamation point to the end of her sentence 🙂
Baby High Chair
Mommy got Julianna a cute "Grow with me" high chair which arrived yesterday and was a quick hit with Julianna. She really likes the independence it gives though it is a major milestone and looking at her sitting up in a chair of any sorts gives thoughts and the realization that our little baby is growing up quick. Here are a couple pictures from last night. As always click on the pictures or hover for the captions.

Baby’s new Kung fu Grip
Julianna has started to grab a hold of everything. With that, papa started handing baby Jay some assorted items to see how she would react and caught a couple of them on camera. Click the pictures for the captions.

Tears of a Baby
Last week Julianna's tear ducts started producing and excreting tears so the phrase "Big Tears" now has true meaning as when she is very upset (which never happens right?) she will shed a tear or two. The phrase "Big Tears" for me dates back to when my sisters Kelly and Abigail were young and meant that it wasn't a tantrum or attention cry but a real cry of pain or desperation usually for food, sleep, or both. In mama and papa's defense we need a second set of arms and hands so that we can hold her AND make her a bottle when it's just one of us as Jaybird can get a bit tetchy when it is feeding or sleep time. Soon or just a minute is never quick enough. And though I usually like posting pictures, we don't have pictures of jaybird crying. 🙂

Julianna Giggles.
When Julianna was first born, I did not know that babies have to learn how to smile. They have no concept of what a smile is or why one would make such an expression. Why this was concerning is that I love kids and one of my trade marks is when I see kids in stores or meet kids for the first time I work to instantly bond with them and get them to smile. It is fun and a challenge but I mostly do it because I see a lot of kids that are getting ignored and want to give them a little attention if only for a brief moment in time. Julianna learned early on how to smile and also to smile back at you not so long ago, but this weekend Julianna me a happy papa when I was able for the first time not only to make Julianna smile and giggle, but to giggle at my laughter. It is one thing to make a baby laugh by tickling or making a face, it is another to have them laugh when you laugh, and that is was what was unique: Julianna laughing with her dada. It was a shared moment I shall never forget.

Thirty-eight is something GREAT
Tonight my birthday celebration was topped off with a gorgeous and simply delicious cake. It was a Chocolate Berry Truffle cake and is a must try if you ever have the opportunity. It tastes like a Belgian truffle wrapped in light cream and drizzled with a summer berry sauce. So Yummy! Julianna helped me blow the candles out on my cake -- we had a great birthday together!
