Bouncy Fun Time!
Here are a couple of pictures of Julianna on her latest fun toy, the bouncy seat. She can not only touch the floor with her toes now and bounce on her own but has learned how to play with all of the toys up top.

My Favorite Things – #5
Julianna has a few items that have become her favorites over the past two months. I thought it would be a good idea to share with everyone what she likes most at this early stage. I will add photos counting down from number five to number one.
Number five is her race car bouncy seat. It's designed to simulate the movement in a car and to soothe infants. It has a rear view mirror and keys so that Julianna can check out her competition in the mirror and start her engine with the keys. She loves this "car" almost as much as she likes riding in the real thing!
Baking with Mom
After reading "The Best Mouse Cookie" to Julianna a few times in the past two weeks we were inspired to make a batch of mom's favorite ooey-gooey Monster cookies. Julianna sat close by, adorned in a handmade chef's hat, and "talked" to mom while she baked. She is sure to be a fan of baking just like her mom when she grows up. Also, check out my recipe for "Monster Cookies." They are wonderfully chewy and so easy to make -- be warned they are addictive and the recipe makes about 40 of them!
Monster Cookies
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 12-ounce jar crunchy peanut butter
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1/2 cup M&Ms chocolate candies
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup dried cranberries
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 4 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal (not instant)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or nonstick baking mats.
In a very large mixing bowl, combine the eggs and sugars. Mix well. Add the salt, vanilla, peanut butter, and butter. Mix well. Stir in the M&Ms, chocolate chips, cranberries, baking soda, and oatmeal. Drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not overbake. Let stand for until cool. Store in airtight container.
Bubble Blower
For weeks now Julianna has been practicing blowing bubbles. In this photo papa was holding her over his head when she decided to blow a HUGE bubble. Best of all, we caught it on camera...Enjoy!
Rubber Ducky You’re the One!
Julianna loves and I mean LOVES having a bath! We have two favorite water toys already her rubber ducky and her pink sponge fish we call "Wanda"; a tribute to one of mom's favorite movies. Our tub fits conveniently over our kitchen sink making bath time easy for mom too!
Julianna’s First Playmates
Julianna came home from the hospital with two instant friends. Our Boston Terriers, Frannie and Lulu, welcomed her with lots of licks and snuggles. When I came across an infant T-shirt sporting a sweet Boston Terrier I knew it had to be purchased for Julianna. Here they pose together for pictures -- it should seem obvious that they all LOVE the camera and the color pink!
